Why a Details Box?
For me to effectively tell the story of your wedding, it’s important to put together a details box.
A details box is exactly what it implies – a box full of details!
By putting together a details box, you can ensure that I capture the most important, smaller details you want to be captured.
Sometimes in consultation, I’ll refer to this as “the shoebox.”
It’s not just a part of the Arkansas Wedding Collection language.
That is because it is most likely you are going to have a shoebox for your shoes, and most details are small enough to fit in with your shoes.
Now that you know what a details box is and why you should have one, what exactly goes into one?
Well, keep reading – we have a few things to include for both the bride and groom.
What to Include In a Details Box
It’s important to put a details box for both the bride and the groom. After all, different people require different details!
In addition to this, he may have a few details he wants to have captured that you may not have.
So, here’s what to include!
For the Bride
This isn’t a perfect list because there is always something you can add to have a personal touch to your details box.
That said, here’s a pretty basic list for brides.
- Wedding Shoes
- Necklace, earrings, and other jewelry you will be wearing on the day of your wedding.
- The rings! (keep these in their boxes)
- Headpieces
- Two copies of wedding stationery with envelopes:
- Invitations
- Save the dates
- Wedding programs
- Thank you cards
- Anything else
- Vows
- Perfume (Side note, did you know smell can bring back the most obscure memories? Let’s capture what scent you had so you can unlock memories down the road!)
- Lipstick
- Garter
- Any items of special significance – this could be a broach or even something like a grape soda badge…Up reference anyone?
- Misc wedding details (extra linen pieces, flowers or pedals, other odds and ends)
- A pretty dress hanger. Don’t worry – it doesn’t have to have your name on it!
For the Groom
In addition to the bride’s details box, here’s a simple list for the groom.
The same rules apply though – add whatever you want to this list!
- His Shoes. Especially if they’re red soles!
- His tie or bow tie
- Pocket Square
- Belt
- Patterned socks
- Cologne
- Cufflinks
- Watch
So there you have it! Put together your details box and have your favorite small details captured.
